Status of a Booking
Understanding Booking Statuses
A booking in the system can have different statuses throughout its lifecycle. Each status is represented by a distinct icon to help you quickly identify the booking’s current state.
New Booking
Initial status when a new booking is created
Expired Booking
A open booking (without a flight) but expired. The booking end date was filled in and today is beyond this end date
Added to a flight
Booking is added to a flight, but not yet confirmed. The operator has to confirm the booking.
If the flight is changed to the READY status, the booking might get removed from the flight as it is not yet confirmed.
Invitation Sent
Invitation has been sent. As soon as the booking contact replies with FLIGHT YES or FLIGHT NO, the booking will be confirmed or removed from the flight.
Confirmed
Booking has been confirmed for the flight
Completed
Booking has been completed. We hope they had a wonderful experience on board.
Cancelled
Booking has been cancelled
Status Flow
Typical booking progression:
- OPEN → ADDED
You can add a booking to a flight in the flight details by selecting a booking or in the booking details by selecting a flight. When a booking uses the UP app to select a flight (after cancellation usually), then this status is also used to show to the operator that this booking still needs to be confirmed.
- ADDED → INVITED
In flight details, you can select a booking, add it to the flight and then ask a confirmation to the booking contact to confirm the flight. This happens when you want to invite bookings to a flight by SMS.
- INVITED/ADDED → CONFIRMED
You can either confirm the booking manually to a flight or the booking contact replies to a SMS invitation with FLIGHT YES.
- CONFIRMED → COMPLETED/OPEN
Once you finish a flight, the booking changes to COMPLETED. Once you cancel a flight the booking chagnes to OPEN.
Additional icons
In addition to the primary booking status icons, the system also includes supplementary icons to provide more detailed information about specific booking attributes:
Children Count
Displays if the booking includes child passengers. The icon is shown when at least one child is included, and the total count is displayed if there is more than one child.
Transport Count
Indicates the number of transport services associated with the booking. The icon appears if at least one transport service is included, with the total count displayed for multiple services.
Disability Count
Highlights if the booking includes passengers with disabilities. The icon is shown when at least one passenger with a disability is included, and the total count is displayed for more than one.
External Booking
Indicates that the booking originates from an external source or system. These additional icons provide quick insights into specific booking details, enhancing the overall visibility and management of bookings.
