Status of a Booking

Understanding Booking Statuses

A booking in the system can have different statuses throughout its lifecycle. Each status is represented by a distinct icon to help you quickly identify the booking’s current state.

perm_contact_calendar New Booking

Initial status when a new booking is created

perm_contact_calendarExpired Booking

A open booking (without a flight) but expired. The booking end date was filled in and today is beyond this end date

assignmentAdded to a flight

Booking is added to a flight, but not yet confirmed. The operator has to confirm the booking.

If the flight is changed to the READY status, the booking might get removed from the flight as it is not yet confirmed.

smsInvitation Sent

Invitation has been sent. As soon as the booking contact replies with FLIGHT YES or FLIGHT NO, the booking will be confirmed or removed from the flight.

assignment_turned_inConfirmed

Booking has been confirmed for the flight

assignment_returnedCompleted

Booking has been completed. We hope they had a wonderful experience on board.

cancelCancelled

Status Flow

Typical booking progression:

  1. OPEN → ADDED

You can add a booking to a flight in the flight details by selecting a booking or in the booking details by selecting a flight. When a booking uses the UP app to select a flight (after cancellation usually), then this status is also used to show to the operator that this booking still needs to be confirmed.

  1. ADDED → INVITED

In flight details, you can select a booking, add it to the flight and then ask a confirmation to the booking contact to confirm the flight. This happens when you want to invite bookings to a flight by SMS.

  1. INVITED/ADDED → CONFIRMED

You can either confirm the booking manually to a flight or the booking contact replies to a SMS invitation with FLIGHT YES.

  1. CONFIRMED → COMPLETED/OPEN

Once you finish a flight, the booking changes to COMPLETED. Once you cancel a flight the booking chagnes to OPEN.
