Backup and Sync Settings

Export and Backup (Disaster Recovery)

You have the option to send a daily export in HTML format to a specific email address. Upon activation, you will receive an immediate export to the designated email address, followed by a daily export around 4 am.

Additionally, database backups are taken every day and stored in a secure location for disaster recovery purposes or to copy the data to a test environment.

Exported Files:

  • bookings.html: Contains all open bookings.
  • flights.html: Includes all planned flights.
  • vouchers.html: Lists all vouchers.
  • flights_bookings_passengers.html: Provides information on all planned flights along with their bookings and passengers.

Disaster Preparedness

It’s crucial for customers to be prepared for a disaster scenario. The software relies on a stable internet connection and availability of Google Cloud resources. In the event that a critical provider experiences issues and you lose access to the system, customers must take measures to continue their operations in offline mode.

The daily export in HTML format can be utilized for this purpose. By regularly downloading and storing these exports, customers can maintain access to essential data even in offline scenarios. It’s recommended that customers establish procedures and infrastructure to handle such situations effectively, ensuring continuity of their operations despite unforeseen disruptions.

ICS URL for the Calendar

You can subscribe to all upcoming flights in your personal calendar.

Note: Most apps synchronize the calendar only every 12 hours. Therefore, any changes in Quick Release might not immediately appear in your smartphone calendar.

If a URL has not yet been generated, you can use the Generate ICS URL button. After that, the URL will appear:

This is a unique code for all upcoming flights.

To use this URL in your calendar apps on your smartphone or via the web, follow the instructions for your app. Some instructions are also provided here: Calendar Subscription URL

If you use the URL in the browser, you will receive a file balloon-flights.ics. Avoid to import this file in your calendar, as it will never refresh.
