Flights

Sunrise Offset

The flight time of morning flights is determined based on sunrise time minus the specified offset minutes, rounded down to the nearest half-hour.

  • Sunrise Time: 05:00
  • Flight Time: 05:04

Sunset Offset

Similar to sunrise offset, flight time of evening flights is calculated based on sunset time minus the offset minutes, rounded down to the nearest half-hour.

  • Sunset Time: 20:00
  • Flight Time: 21:48

Meeting Time Offset (Feature not yet available)

The meeting time for the flight is calculated as the flight time minus the configured offset minutes. If the offset is set to 0, only the flight time is shown and the meeting time is not displayed. When a positive offset is set, the meeting time is shown in the passenger web application and can be included in email, SMS, and WhatsApp templates using the variable {{ meeting_hour }}. Operators can choose to apply the offset to a single future flight or update all upcoming flights with the new setting.

Options to save the new offsets

The settings panel offers two distinct save buttons for managing time offset changes:

  1. Save (First button)

    • Only saves the new offset setting for future flights that will be created
    • Does not modify any existing scheduled flights
    • Useful when you want to change the default setting without disrupting current flight schedules
  2. Save and Update Hours (Second button)

    • Saves the new offset setting AND updates all future scheduled flights
    • Recalculates the times for all upcoming flights based on the new offset
    • Should be used with caution as it will affect all future flight schedules

Both buttons are disabled (grayed out) until changes are made to the offset values, preventing accidental submissions. The buttons use a red warning color to indicate that these are important system-wide changes.
