Flyability Limits
Overview
Flyability judges every forecast slot (morning and evening, per launch location) against your own weather limits and shows the conclusion as a colour:
- π’ good β every parameter within your good range
- π doubtful β at least one parameter in its warning band
- π΄ do not fly β at least one parameter beyond your limit
The verdicts appear on the dashboard weather card (an icon on every AM/PM date chip and a detail strip for the selected slot), on the location detail, and on the flight detail β including a chip that stays visible when the weather panel is collapsed. The strip always names the parameters that caused the verdict, with their forecast values, so you see why a slot is orange or red.
The verdict is planning support, not an operational decision β the pilot in command decides.
Switching it on
Flyability is off by default. Open Settings β weather settings and NOTAM β flyability limits and use the switch at the top of the card. Off means the weather card and flight detail look exactly as before β no colours, no verdicts.
The six parameters

| Wind at ~500 m | Wind at typical cruise height β sets how fast and far you travel, and how much landing area you need |
| Gust spread | How much stronger gusts are than the steady wind β sudden pulls on the envelope during inflation and landing |
| Precipitation | Rain in the slot window β a wet envelope is heavy and hard on the fabric |
| Low clouds | Cloud cover below cruise height β visibility of the ground and of other traffic |
| Visibility | Horizontal visibility β legal minima and safe navigation |
Each parameter shows a proportional green/orange/red band bar labelled with the ranges it covers, a plain-language explanation, and both boundaries (good β doubtful, doubtful β do not fly).
Editing and resetting
- Adjust any boundary; the band bar updates immediately and the new limits apply to all verdicts as soon as you save.
- A parameter you never touched keeps following the platform default, including future improvements to it.
- Reset restores the default per parameter, or for all parameters at once β the editor always shows what the default value is, so you can tell an override from a default.
Missing data
If the forecast lacks a value for a parameter (for example gust data for some sources), that parameter is simply excluded from the verdict β a missing value never produces a false “do not fly”. When too little data is available for a slot, no verdict is shown at all.
