Default Weight Tracking

Never Guess About Passenger Weights Again

When a new passenger is added to a booking, the system assigns a default weight of 75 kg. But until now, you couldn’t tell if that 75 kg was:

  • A system default (passenger never provided their weight)
  • Or an actual confirmed weight that happens to be 75 kg

This matters for flight safety. Now Quick Release clearly shows which weights need confirmation.

What You’ll See

Booking Details

A scale icon appears next to any passenger whose weight hasn’t been confirmed. You’ll also see a warning message: “X passenger(s) with default weight”.

Flight View

The passenger list shows the same scale icon for passengers with unconfirmed weights, so you can spot them before the flight.

How It Works

For Operators

  1. Open a booking with new passengers
  2. See the warning icon next to default weights
  3. Touch the weight field to confirm (even without changing the value)
  4. Save - the warning disappears

The icon clears as soon as you interact with the weight field, even before saving.

For Passengers (UP App)

Passengers with default weights will see their weight field marked as “Missing information” instead of showing 75 kg. They’ll be prompted to fill in their actual weight before the booking is considered complete.

Why This Matters

Accurate passenger weights are essential for:

  • Flight safety - correct lift and fuel calculations
  • Capacity planning - knowing true payload before departure
  • Compliance - documented weight confirmations

No configuration needed - the feature works automatically for all bookings.
