Configurable Flight Duplicate Protection
Choose How Duplicate Flights Are Handled
A new toggle in flight settings lets you control whether Quick Release blocks duplicate flights for the same balloon.
What’s Changed
Duplicate Protection Toggle
Go to Settings > Flight Settings > Duplicate Protection to enable or disable duplicate flight protection.
| Setting | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Enabled (default) | Blocks creating flights that overlap with existing flights on the same date, period, and balloon — but only when the existing flight already has bookings |
| Disabled | Allows freely creating overlapping flights without restrictions |
When to Disable
Some operators intentionally run multiple flights with the same balloon on the same day and period. Disabling duplicate protection removes the blocking check and gives you full flexibility.
Performance
The setting is cached for performance and takes effect immediately — no restart or delay required.
Why This Matters
- Flexible operations — Operators who run overlapping flights can now do so without workarounds
- Safe defaults — Protection remains enabled by default, preventing accidental duplicates for most operators
- Instant control — Toggle the setting and it applies right away
