Lift Warning Zones

Description (English)#

The spare-lift indicator used to know only two states: green when the spare lift was positive, red when it was negative. A spare lift of 20 kg looked just as “green” as 300 kg. From now on the scale badge ⚖️ next to the spare lift shows four zones:

• 🔴 Red — the spare lift is negative (always), or below the limit you set for this balloon.
• 🟠 Orange — doubtful: above the red limit but below your comfort limit.
• 🟢 Green — comfortable spare lift at a sensible load.
• 🔵 Blue — the balloon is too light: even at takeoff weight minus all the fuel on board, it would land below the balloon’s MLM (minimum landing mass). Add load or ballast before this reads green.

You’ll see the badge on the flight card, in the Lift panel on the flight detail, and on the pilot’s mobile view — always the same scale symbol, with the zone as colour and a tooltip explaining it.

Set the limits per balloon#

Every balloon is different: 200/275 kg may be right for a 12-passenger balloon where 80 kg fits a 4-passenger one. Open Resources → Balloons → your balloon and find the new lift warning zones section: a coloured bar shows your red, orange and green ranges while you type the two limits — doubtful (orange) from and good (green) from.

Nothing changes until you configure a balloon: the limits start at 0, which behaves exactly like before (only a negative spare lift turns red). The blue zone activates as soon as the balloon has an MLM filled in.

Always up to date with the forecast#

The lift calculation for upcoming flights on automatic Meteoblue weather now uses the latest forecast for takeoff temperature and pressure at the moment you look at it — no need to open the flight first. A takeoff temperature you entered manually keeps priority, exactly like before.

De reserve-draagvermogen-indicator kende maar twee standen: groen bij positief, rood bij negatief. 20 kg reserve oogde net zo “groen” als 300 kg. Vanaf nu toont het weegschaaltje ⚖️ naast de reserve vier zones:

• 🔴 Rood — reserve negatief (altijd), of onder de grens die je voor deze ballon instelde.
• 🟠 Oranje — twijfelachtig: boven de rode grens maar onder je comfortgrens.
• 🟢 Groen — comfortabele reserve bij een zinvolle belading.
• 🔵 Blauw — de ballon is te licht: zelfs met alle brandstof opgebruikt zou hij onder de MLM (minimum landingsmassa) landen. Voeg belading of ballast toe voor dit groen wordt.

Je ziet de badge op de vaartkaart, in het Lift-paneel van het vaartdetail en op de mobiele pilotenpagina — altijd hetzelfde weegschaal-symbool, met de zone als kleur en een tooltip met uitleg.

Grenzen per ballon#

Open Middelen → Ballonnen → je ballon: in de nieuwe sectie lift-waarschuwingszones toont een gekleurde balk je rode, oranje en groene zones terwijl je de twee grenzen intikt — twijfelachtig (oranje) vanaf en goed (groen) vanaf. Zonder configuratie verandert er niets (grenzen op 0 = gedrag van vroeger); de blauwe zone werkt zodra de ballon een MLM heeft.

Altijd actueel met de forecast#

De liftberekening van geplande vaarten op automatisch Meteoblue-weer gebruikt voortaan de nieuwste voorspelling voor temperatuur en luchtdruk op het moment dat je kijkt — je hoeft de vaart niet eerst te openen. Een handmatig ingegeven temperatuur behoudt voorrang, zoals voorheen.
